Retired LEGO Star Wars ship appears in Disney+ The Mandalorian trailer

An alternate trailer for Season 3 of The Mandalorian on Disney+ includes the appearance of a retired LEGO Star Wars ship in the returning show.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian will be back on the small screen this year, with Season 3 of the live-action series due to arrive on Disney+ on March 1, 2023. The highly-anticipated show will see Din Djarin and Grogu having more adventures in a galaxy far, far away, with appearances by numerous fan favourite characters, as well as visits to all-new and familiar locations.

A second trailer for Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 3 dropped this week, providing a more detailed look at what will be featured in the upcoming series. A slightly different alternate video has also appeared on Disney+, featuring a handful of new shots not included in the existing footage, one of which reveals a look at a recently retired LEGO Star Wars ship.

The shot in question appears to take place on Coruscant (or possibly Hosnian Prime) and shows multiple Imperial Star Destroyers being dismantled, presumably following the events of Return of the Jedi. 75252 Imperial Star Destroyer represented the largest and most accurate version of the vessel to date, although the 4,784-piece model is now sadly retired. The massive LEGO Star Wars set has popped up briefly on some retailer’s sites in recent months, but it’s probably safe to assume it’s out of stock for good now.

Rumours suggest that at least two LEGO Star Wars sets based on Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 3 may be arriving this year in the form of 75346 Pirate Snubfighter and 75348 Mandalorian Fang Fighter vs. TIE Interceptor. Note that the LEGO Group has yet to confirm the existence of the models, so do take that information with a pinch of salt for now.
