As befits one of the world’s most recognisable buildings, LEGO Architecture 21065 Sagrada Família is assembled in the same sequence as Gaudi’s iconic creation.
The biggest LEGO set by piece count was officially revealed today in the shape of the upcoming 21065 Sagrada Família. Comprised of a whopping 12,060 elements, the LEGO Architecture model comes together via a series of smaller builds, which combine to form Barcelona’s most iconic and ambitious landmark.
To break down 21065 Sagrada Família into much more manageable chunks, the LEGO Architecture team seems to have decided to follow in the footsteps of its original architect and designer, Antoni Gaudi, allowing the massive set to be constructed as distinct separate elements that mirror the building’s actual construction sequence.

For starters, 21065 Sagrada Família’s assembly begins with the foundational Apse (a semicircular recess topped with a domed roof) with Crypt at the base and then the Nativity façade – the only part of the building Gaudí actually managed to see completed before his passing in 1926.

The next section of 21065 Sagrada Família to be constructed is the dramatic Passion façade, which Gaudi intended to feel ‘hard, bare, and as if made of bones,’ followed by the grand naves, designed in a Latin cross layout, the Western Sacristy in the north-west corner of the basilica, and six iconic towers, which help to make the building the tallest religious structure in Europe.

In the brick-built versions of the Nativity façade and Passion façade, the LEGO Architecture team has used a selection of coloured transparent elements to simulate the striking stained-glass window effect of the real basilica, based on Catalan artist Joan Vila-Grau’s creations.
The final stage of the LEGO Architecture model to be completed comes with attaching all of the above together with the Eastern Sacristy (which was finally finished in 2015) and the Glory façade, although the interior of the latter still remains actively under construction to this very day.

Once finished, builders can then place what is most likely a printed nameplate to the black base of 21065 Sagrada Família, which should represent a fitting last touch to the huge LEGO Architecture model.

21065 Sagrada Família will be released on November 1, 2026, priced at £649.99 / $799.99 / €749.99 and the LEGO Architecture set can be pre-ordered in advance from today. In the meantime, be sure to take a deep dive into the history of the real Sagrada Família right here.
