LEGO Star Wars 75441 Venator-Class Attack Cruiser joins the midi-scale Starship Collection as a more familiar entry next year, building on two previous sets – but also introducing an unfortunate flaw, even while as the build delights and impresses.

Unlike 75440 AT-AT, 75441 Venator-Class Attack Cruiser is a more familiar entry into the Starship Collection, depicting the Clone Wars vessel on a black stand. It's bigger than expected when the build is finished, making a significant impression on display. This impression is greatly assisted by the small strips of red that these prequel starships include, as well as the visible transparent blue elements.

The naturally-angled look of the twin bridges works wonders too, adding some slight shaping to the set without jeopardising the foundation and structure. These minute but impactful details continue throughout the build. This includes the shaping of the thrusters at the back, as well as the slight greebling down the port and aft of the vessel in what little space is available between the wings.

Despite the minuscule available space inside the build, the LEGO Star Wars team have managed to insert a couple of meaningful and accurate Easter eggs, and one may just be my personal favourite of any midi-scale LEGO Star Wars set to date. The starship's huge hangar bay is present with the shields built into the angled wings of the model, cleverly completing the look of the hangar.

You can see this hangar bay by lifting off that red stripe, similar to how the stripe can open up in the movies and series. Within this small space is a pair of rounded tiles representing Anakin and Obi-Wan's starfighters. You can instantly tell what these pieces are meant to be, and they're small enough so as not to interfere with the stripe assembly when placing it on top.

While 75441 Venator-Class Attack Cruiser sets itself apart from the recent Acclamator and retired Super Star Destroyer midi-scale models, one important aspect of the set fails to learn a lesson from those prior releases.

While those previous ships managed to properly angle the undersides of their wings and have them stay in place, the connections chosen for those of 75441 Venator-Class Attack Cruiser are just too weak relative to the detailed all-around build. Once you have them in place as stated by the instructions, they'll quickly buckle under their own weight and go flat on the bottom. It's an unfortunate effect of the model looking as detailed as it does on the underside, and opting for weaker connections that, in this scenario, don't work outside of digital building software.

It's not overly noticeable when viewing the starship model from above, but it's nonetheless a shame. The few clip connections chosen for these heavy subassemblies are inevitably not strong enough to hold these sections slightly aloft, as shown in the instructions. Speaking of the manual, there's a small fact-based error early on, but the LEGO Group has assured Brick Fanatics that this will be fixed in future production runs.

This one flaw isn't enough to spoil 75441 Venator-Class Attack Cruiser, but it is present while 75404 Acclamator-Class Assault Ship and the older 8099 Midi-scale Imperial Star Destroyer had no such problems. It's unfortunate to see it surface in the 2026 model, and it's likely down to using a handful of hinge connections rather than anything more substantial.

As it stands, 75441 Venator-Class Attack Cruiser is a good-looking build that isn't without its flaws. It's a great interpretation of the iconic Clone Wars starship compared to its much larger counterpart. At £69.99 / $79.99 / €79.99, and with the weak wings in mind, it's a 2026 LEGO Star Wars set to search for on sale. It won't need to drop far to earn a spot on your shelf, though.

Our honest opinion: 75441 Venator-Class Attack Cruiser may look great, but additional support to hold up its heavy underside would have gone the extra mile.
