LEGO Ideas steps on BrickLink Designer Program's innkeeping toes

The latest LEGO Ideas set to gain 10,000 supporters retreads familiar ground recently covered in the BrickLink Designer Program.

Brick_Scribe's Modular Medieval Corner Inn is a 2,999-piece, four-level modular building, recreating a cosy medieval inn. Made up of 10 rooms, it features a number of play features and interactive functions, including two hidden fully-functional light bricks to make the turret and the chimney glow, a wide range of brick-built accessories like bookshelves, scrolls, and candlesticks, detachable building sections that you can rearrange at will, and a notice board to choose your own adventure.

There are also six minifigures to flesh out your Castle-themed display, including a wizard, an artist, a musician, a fortune teller, a knight, and an innkeeper. While the description doesn't specifically mention it, Modular Medieval Corner Inn appears to be heavily inspired by Dungeons & Dragons adventures – much like a recent BrickLink Designer Program finalist for Series 9, MarinBD’s Sleepy Dragon Inn.

With the appetite for medieval builds in the LEGO community, it's no surprise that two sets based on similar inspiration made it into Ideas and BrickLink Designer Program around the same time. Both offer their own unique takes on a medieval inn with magical characters – but are they different enough to both go on sale?

That decision now lies at least partly with the LEGO Ideas team, with Modular Medieval Corner Inn now the 40th project in the third and final review round of 2025. Check out the competition in the table down below.
