Following the
recent rumour list, official images have now turned up on the
LEGO Group's server revealing the first set of characters that will be released as
LEGO BrickHeadz. With the DC selection based on The
LEGO Batman Movie, and the Marvel batch including four of the Avengers, there are eight super hero based characters on the way.

The first few BrickHeadz were released as San Diego Comic Con 2016 exclusives, with this selection due to be released in March after early access in February to members of the
LEGO Store VIP program. Two more sets are expected to be Belle and the Beast from Disney's Beauty and the Beast, coinciding with the release of the live-action adaptation.
It is likely that fans will be quick to adapt the style and expand the character selection, although they will need to use more ingenious methods than the printed parts that provide much of the torso detail for these characters. The '1' tile on each stand suggests that multiple series are due, with this just the (second) beginning.
