More retiring LEGO sets sell out for good online – Star Wars, Icons, Technic

More retiring LEGO sets are starting to sell out for good online, across themes including Star Wars, LEGO Icons, Disney and Technic.

The first batch of retiring LEGO sets to move to ‘sold out’ status at the official online store in the UK included 75336 Inquisitor Transport Scythe, 76193 The Guardians’ Ship and 76403 The Ministry of Magic. Across the pond, 75330 Dagobah Jedi Training Diorama, 31206 The Rolling Stones and 42139 All-Terrain Vehicle were among the earliest casualties for 2023.

Even more sets are now beginning to sell out seemingly for good, as per the distinction between ‘temporarily out of stock’ and ‘sold out’. If a product receives the latter label, chances are it’s not coming back… but it’s worth noting that’s no longer a guarantee, as 2022’s LEGO Star Wars 75330 Dagobah Jedi Training Diorama is actually on back order in the US now, despite having previously sold out.

Still, there’s no sense in taking the risk with retiring sets, as you never know when your last chance to snap them up might be. The latest models to sell out in the UK include 75326 Boba Fett’s Throne Room, 76948 T. rex & Atrociraptor Dinosaur Breakout, 43207 Ariel’s Underwater Palace, 31131 Downtown Noodle Shop and 42144 Material Handler.

Over in the US, heavy hitters including 42131 App-Controlled Cat D11 Bulldozer, 75327 Luke Skywalker (Red Five) Helmet and 2021’s Winter Village set 10293 Santa’s Visit are all no longer available to purchase from the official online store, although you may still be able to find them in your local LEGO Store. Otherwise, your only hope at this stage is turning to third-party retailers – at least for those sets that are available outside direct channels.

Hundreds of LEGO sets are due to retire in 2023 (click here to check them all out), and chances are good that more and more are going to sell out in the days and weeks to come – potentially even before Black Friday, so while it might be worth hanging on to see if you can score a bargain, it’s always a risk…

If you start working your way through your wishlist today, you can at least secure 40599 Houses of the World 4 with purchases above £220 / $250 / €250, and 40659 Mini Steamboat Willie when spending at least £95 / $100 / €100 on Disney, Marvel and Star Wars sets.
