It's been a significant year of highs and lows for LEGO Star Wars, ranging from the most straightforward set to the theme's most expensive so far.
LEGO Star Wars enthusiasts have enjoyed a year of ups and downs for the theme, with much to cover from the past 12 months. We've compiled some of the theme's most notable moments, both good and bad, into one list to close the book on LEGO Star Wars' year.
As we continue to close the door on this year and look back at the past 12 months, here are the highs and lows of LEGO Star Wars in 2025, from sets to posters and the second season of Rebuild the Galaxy.
High – 75407 Star Wars Logo

As simple as it is,
High – Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past

The second season of Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past was another high for LEGO Star Wars in 2025, bringing together dozens of Easter eggs into another great special that pays tribute to LEGO, Star Wars and LEGO Star Wars. It didn't just focus on past releases, either.
High – An update to the LEGO rangefinder

One of the biggest, but must niche highs for LEGO Star Wars in 2025 was the makeover the LEGO rangefinder received earlier this year, serving as a huge upgrade over the old element.
"The rangefinder has had a nice update. It's much more accurate to the range finders that the clones and Jango use," explained senior graphic designer Madison O’Neil to Brick Fanatics earlier this year.
"Part of that decision came about because up until now, the range finder was part of a family mould, so you get it in a bag with three other range finders and some visors. And of course, in every set, we don't need all of those elements, so to kind of save on plastic waste and things, we decided to bring it down to just the rangefinder piece."
Opting to both upgrade the detail in the rangefinder element while decreasing the additional parts it comes with to zero continues to be an interesting decision, leaving the LEGO Group with the option to update the visor at some point, too.

High – 2025's May the 4th gift-with-purchase

This year's May the 4th gift-with-purchase,
Low – 75413 Republic Juggernaut's structural issues

High – Star Wars Celebration 2025's LEGO posters
From one low to another high, one of the biggest and most pleasant surprises of the year proved to be four free posters given away for Star Wars Celebration 2025, blending the whimsy of LEGO Star Wars with Japanese culture.
High – 40806 Gingerbread AT-AT

LEGO Star Wars is no stranger to seasonal sets, but none have been quite as experimental as
High – The ambition of 75419 Death Star

Rounding out this list with one final high is 75419 Death Star. The huge LEGO Star Wars model surprised everyone when it launched, in good ways and bad. However, you can't deny that this is an ambitious build that succeeded in the specific direction the designers were aiming for. You can read our review to take a closer look at the massive model.
Low – The cost of 75419 Death Star

Unfortunately, 75419 Death Star is also arguably one of the biggest lows. As much as the model is ambitious, early reactions have shown that it wasn't what LEGO Star Wars fans were expecting from the most expensive set in the theme to date. The £899.99 / $999.99/ €999.99 build has drawn criticism over certain angles of the build since its reveal, as well as worries regarding the high price.
75419 Death Star manages to be both one of the highest highs and lowest lows of LEGO Star Wars in 2025, depending on who in the community you ask. It's not only the most expensive LEGO Star Wars set, but also one of the most divisive.
