From website functionality to stock availability, LEGO Pokémon’s launch has gone relatively smoothly in most regions – unless you’re down under…
The first five LEGO Pokémon sets went live at LEGO.com at midnight, including the three 18+ retail sets, a gift-with-purchase and a LEGO Insiders reward. And at the time of writing, they’re all still available to order in most regions around the world, as the LEGO Group has done a pretty good job of anticipating demand (perhaps aided by pre-orders back in January) and enforcing strict limits of one of each set per household.

The biggest set
Things are a little different in Australia, though.

The LEGO Group is already aware of the issue, and according to various Facebook commenters who claim to have spoken with LEGO Australia’s customer service team, the Insiders reward has been delayed due to ‘shipment issues’. But that’s not the only hiccup Australian fans have had to contend with: Jay’s Brick Blog reports that the LEGO Insiders newsletter for Pokémon’s launch linked through to the UK version of the Insiders Rewards Centre.
While the currency symbol and price would obviously set alarm bells ringing for anyone being sent to another region’s LEGO.com product listings, the Insiders Rewards Centre trades exclusively in Insiders points – so there are no similar hints that you’re in the wrong place. And that’s a problem because you need to redeem your points for codes in your home country – any codes redeemed in other regions won’t work.
If the newsletter did indeed link to the UK version of the Insiders Rewards Centre as Jay claims, the LEGO Group may have at least a few fans with incorrect codes on their hands. If you’re among that number, your best course of action is getting in touch with the company’s customer services team to hopefully find a solution.
