LEGO The Lord of the Rings and Disney BrickHeadz revealed

Four new LEGO BrickHeadz sets are winging their way to shelves in June, including a fresh The Lord of the Rings two-pack and three Disney-inspired sets.

While the BrickHeadz theme has waxed and waned over the years in terms of volume of output, the LEGO Group has now settled into a comfortable groove for its take on Funko’s Pop figures. A handful of characters have already hit shelves in 2024, including 40671 Potted Groot, 40674 Stitch and the newly-released 40676 The Phantom Menace and 40675 Clone Commander Cody.

Four more sets are joining the fray in June, including between them nine brand new BrickHeadz characters. Two of those hail from Middle-earth, while the rest are inspired by Disney properties. Check out all the new additions below.

40749 Joy, Sadness & Anxiety

Disney’s upcoming Inside Out 2 already has one regular LEGO Disney set in 43248 Inside Out 2 Mood Cubes, but if you’re looking for a more conventional approach to Pixar territory you might want to check out 40749 Joy, Sadness & Anxiety. Three different characters in one box for only £17.99 / $19.99 / €19.99 is pretty good, even if two of them are on the smaller side.

40751 Legolas & Gimli

Price: £17.99 / $19.99 / €19.99 Pieces: 297 Release date: June 1, 2024

Last year’s 40630 Frodo & Gollum, 40631 Gandalf the Grey & Balrog and 40632 Aragorn & Arwen will be joined by 40751 Legolas & Gimli next month, as the LEGO Group continues its crusade to turn the entire Fellowship of the Ring into blocky statuettes. That leaves only Merry, Pippin, Sam and Boromir to go for the entire collection. The 297-piece pair will retail for £17.99 / $19.99 / €19.99.

40752 Carl, Russell & Kevin

40752 Carl, Russell & Kevin sort of rights a wrong in last year’s 43217 ‘Up’ House by including Kevin alongside Carl and Russell (the bird was absent from the LEGO Disney 100th anniversary set). The result is another three-pack that keeps things affordable, offering a cheap and easy way to commemorate one of Pixar’s most iconic tearjerkers.

40753 Mirabel Madrigal

Price: £9.99 / $9.99 / €9.99 Pieces: 179 Release date: June 1, 2024

Rounding out the pack is 40753 Mirabel Madrigal, the only solo LEGO BrickHeadz character currently on the way in June. Plucked directly from Disney’s Encanto, she’s pretty unique as these things go, with bold green glasses and – vital to any successful BrickHeadz – hair that looks distinct and interesting to build. The printed plate for her dress is the icing on the cake.
