The new LEGO Icons 10351 Sherlock Holmes Book Nook isn't as accurate as expected, depicting an entirely different character than suggested.
The LEGO Group has lifted the curtain of 10351 Sherlock Holmes Book Nook, bringing the iconic detective stories to life in a recreation of Baker Street with several exciting minifigures in a dynamic display model. With 1,359 pieces, it's launching on June 1 for £109.99 in the UK, $129.99 in the US, and €119.99 in Europe.
Despite the impressive nature of this LEGO book nook, it's not as accurate to the original Sherlock Holmes stories as you'd expect, instead offering the LEGO Group's take on certain characters and the recognisable stories. You can see precisely what we mean in our new YouTube video, featuring a closer look at the model and minifigures of 10351 Sherlock Holmes Book Nook.
Despite some accurate details, the introduction of Paige and the depiction of Moriarty stand out as notable inaccuracies in the LEGO Icons set, but the latter may be an intentional reference to another popular character who has had some rivalry with Sherlock Holmes.
Whether intentional or not, it's all in good fun, and if there's ever a place for creative liberties on classic stories, it's in a LEGO set. LEGO Icons 10351 Sherlock Holmes Book Nook will be released on June 1 for £109.99 / $129.99 / €119.99.
