LEGO Chinese New Year 2026 sets officially revealed

Get ready to celebrate the Chinese New Year in 2026 with two colourful new LEGO models to mark the arrival of Spring Festival.

LEGO will continue its annual release of Chinese Traditional Festival sets in 2026, with two new models making their debut on January 1. The pair of Lunar Year creations are 80118 Fortune Firecracker and 80119 Galloping Horses Canvas, with the latter marking 2026 as being the Year of the Horse.

The colourful Spring Festival models offer very different builds to assemble, although both feature a number of interesting functions, as well as a selection of themed minifigures to accompany the LEGO Chinese New Year releases.

80118 Fortune Firecracker

Price: £69.99 / $89.99 / €79.99 Pieces: 1,039 Minifigures: 6 Release date: January 1, 2026

Coming in at 1,039 pieces is 80118 Fortune Firecracker, priced at £69.99 / $89.99 / €79.99. The LEGO Chinese New Year set boasts an ornate brick-built firework, one that also doubles up as decorative wall-mounted art measuring over 47cm tall.

Inside the model’s eight firecrackers are LEGO bricks to simulate a ‘crackling’ noise when shaken, while pressing a button on the front of the build reveals a pair of swappable scenes. The first is a Spring Festival firework display, complete with three minifigures, or there's an alternate option featuring the God of Fortune himself and two more minifigures welcoming the deity.

80119 Galloping Horses Canvas

Price: £89.99 / $109.99 / €99.99 Pieces: 1,650 Minifigures: 2 Release date: January 1, 2026

Also arriving early next year is 80119 Galloping Horses Canvas, with the 1,650-piece model coming in at £89.99 / $109.99 / €99.99. This striking set features a dynamic art décor scene, complete with four galloping horses symbolising the traditional blessing of ‘success upon arrival’ in the New Year, that can be posed against a decorative brush-painted canvas backdrop.

Turning a handle on the side of the LEGO Spring Festival set simulates galloping, with the animals being a symbol of strength and a total of eight horses representing good fortune. 80119 Galloping Horses Canvas is rounded out with minifigures of a painter, complete with horse painting scroll accessory, and another in a Year of the Horse costume.
