The fifth LEGO Technic Ultimate set is coming soon

LEGO Technic's fifth Ultimate series set is coming soon, according to a new teaser as the theme finally names a longtime collection of supercars.

The LEGO Group has put out a teaser for a new LEGO Technic McLaren model, the reveal of which is confirmed to be coming soon. There's not much to take away from the teaser but the new set quickly speeds by in a blur. We don't get a great look at the new model, but it seems to be orange.

Oddly, when you search for LEGO Technic Ultimate online, the official online store lists a collection of four heavy-duty models, which doesn't quite make sense with the fast-paced teaser and any of McLaren's vehicles.

Instead, the LEGO Technic team may finally be applying an appropriate but confusing name to their collection of 1:8 scale supercar recreations, currently including 42056 Porsche 911 GT3 RS, 42083 Bugatti Chiron, 42115 Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 and 42143 Ferrari Daytona SP3. To our knowledge, this collection was previously unnamed.

Another addition would be the fifth and the teaser certainly suggests that this will be another supercar over a crane, dump truck or digger. It may be that the old Ultimate collection will be renamed or retired going forward. It's worth noting that 42145 Airbus H175 Rescue Helicopter is the only remaining model in the range that has not been retired, but it is scheduled to be later this year.

We'll hopefully know more about what this teaser is referring to later this month and usually, teasers from the LEGO Group precede an official announcement days later but nothing more has been confirmed at this time.
