Batman Returns was released 31 years ago today and to celebrate the anniversary, there’s a range of LEGO sets now available – if a bit late.
On June 19, 1992, Batman Returns revisited Michael Keaton’s Batman, decades before his return as the character in 2023’s The Flash.
Timing with The Flash, there’s a new range of LEGO DC models based on Michael Keaton’s portrayal of the Caped Crusader on the official online store now, including the biggest DC set by far.
The first film has a fair few sets, both old and new, as well, making for one of the most monumental LEGO DC waves in recent years. Here’s a look at what you can currently find, and what has since retired, for both.
Batman Returns (1992)
Ideally, these would have been released during the 30th anniversary of the film, but it's better late than never. There are three builds based on the sequel, all of which are currently available. These include
These cover a wide range of models from brick-built figures to massive display models. Out of the selection, 76252 Batcave – Shadow Box is arguably the most impressive with a staggering 3,981 pieces, more than any other DC set.

These vehicles are the subject of the other LEGO Batman 1989 builds, including 76139 1989 Batmobile and its promotional companion model 40433 1989 Batmobile - Limited Edition. 76161 1989 Batwing was the first build to recreate the film’s Batwing too. These three builds are now retired and no longer available.
