The Restaurants of the World collection begins soon with LEGO Icons 10362 French Café, but the target audience for the set might seem confusing.
LEGO Icons will soon be home to two worldwide collections – one for gardens and another for restaurants – with the reveal of 10362 French Café sparking a second range not retroactively adding any models. The 1,101-piece restaurant recreation may appear to be minifigure-scale, but this model has been designed to be standalone, showcasing some interesting building techniques that don't often appear in official models.
As a standalone model, exactly who it's for might seem perplexing and this question is the topic of our latest YouTube video, including an exploration of the LEGO Group's logic for this set and who it's probably not for.
With its black base but blank back and minifigure-sized (or at least very close) furnishings, 10362 French Café comes across as a good-looking but somewhat confusing model, unless the LEGO Group is aiming for a specific demographic.
You can take a closer look at the new LEGO Icons set in our initial reveal report with 10362 French Café available from March 1 for £69.99 in the UK, $79.99 in the US and €79.99 in Europe. Look out for our review in early February.
