Tune in for big LEGO builds at the start of Disney’s Making Wonder series

The first episode of the Making Wonder series is up on YouTube, leading us into the Disney 100th anniversary celebrations. 

Making Wonder, Disney's new five part series, was described at launch as “combining the imagination of Disney’s storytelling with the creativity of LEGO bricks”, and that’s exactly what the first episode delivers. We get to take a behind-the-scenes look at two LEGO built go-kart designs based on Disney princesses Cinderella and Jasmine, with matching LEGO keyrings and painted princess helmets to match.

In the first episode there’s a special guest appearance from racing driver Naomi Schiff, which has definitely raised our hopes for what will come in the later episodes. From the teaser trailer we get a brief glimpse of the house from Up, which could potentially be recreated in a later episode. 

The princess-themed go-kart builds in the video, as master LEGO builder Pete Donner explains, have roughly 20,000 bricks per kart, took around 40-80 hours to design, and ultimately over 100-150 hours to build. In the video, the impressive results of the colossal undertaking speak for themselves.

Other upcoming LEGO celebrations that we’ll see in the months before Disney’s 100th anniversary in October include the 71038 Disney 100 minifigures in May, and the sets 43215 The Enchanted Treehouse and 43221 100 Years of Disney Animation Icons in June.
