A LEGO Harry Potter set leaving shelves soon has paved the way for NINJAGO's 15th-anniversary minifigures in more ways than one.
LEGO anniversary minifigures are not a new concept, but there's something specific about NINJAGO's 2026 collection that should remind you of a retiring set. While the minifigures themselves in the NINJAGO 15th-anniversary range have yet to be revealed (but that hasn't stopped us from speculating), the base itself differs from most other anniversary minifigure selections.
LEGO Star Wars' two anniversary minifigure groups have used simple-looking bases that can connect, and NINJAGO's last anniversary minifigures were much more individual, but with a circular printed tile akin to what we can see in the new anniversary minifigures.
Those new NINJAGO minifigures are all featured on a base with a more cohesive and detailed design – one that should remind you more of LEGO Harry Potter's golden anniversary minifigures. While the majority of the 20th-anniversary Wizarding World minifigures were featured on only golden minifigure bases, there was room for all of them on a specialised base model in 2021's
That golden creation is made up of five segments for the nine LEGO Harry Potter anniversary minifigures. The NINJAGO model that was showcased at Fan Media Days appears to be made up of seven segments and two end elements, to be split throughout LEGO NINJAGO Legacy sets coming out in 2026.
The elegant design of this display stand still showcases how the retiring LEGO Harry Potter build has helped to pave the way for these anniversary minifigures, even though we currently have no clues as to what format they will take in 2026.
The base for the NINJAGO minifigures follows in the footsteps of the Harry Potter anniversary collection rather than those of LEGO Star Wars or the theme's 10th anniversary. While we wait to find out more,
