The LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort is retiring Prince Philip from his royal Miniland duties today, after he officially stepped down from public service.
Made especially for this occasion, LEGOLAND Model Makers have remodelled the Duke of Edinburgh to feature his now iconic bowler hat, which has been added to his tiny 10 cm tall LEGO® model. Additionally, a 'Gone Fishing' sign has been hung from the gate of Miniland's very own LEGO Buckingham Palace.
Lauren Moss, Senior PR for LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort, says: "The Queen and Prince Philip visited our miniature LEGO Buckingham Palace in Miniland back in 2003, so we thought it was only right to wish the Duke of Edinburgh a very happy retirement by marking the occasion in Miniland in our own LEGOLAND way."
The LEGOLAND Windsor Resort recently opened the LEGOLAND Castle Hotel, currently taking bookings for room and ticket packages.
