The fan behind LEGO Ideas 21363 The Goonies has showcased one strong incentive to become a fan designer, now that the set is nearing release.
Becoming a LEGO Ideas fan designer doesn't just mean having your very own official set on shelves for all to see; the title comes with extra incentives. Vaggelis Ntezes, also known as Delusion Brick, recently showcased one of these incentives on Instagram.

This still isn't all of the incentives to become a LEGO Ideas fan designer, though. Should you be picked for a future set, you'll also be credited with a bio on the first pages of the instructions manual and, most importantly, receive 1% of the total net sales of the set. That latter incentive is not applicable for gifts-with-purchase, since they're given away for free with qualifying orders.
It might all sound good, but becoming a LEGO Ideas fan designer is no easy feat. Outside of challenges, the only method to achieve this goal is to get 10,000 supporters on a submission and beat the other projects in your respective review round to be selected for an official set.
There's plenty of competition guaranteed either way, but the rewards are worthwhile. We may see a new fan designer as part of the upcoming first 2025 review announcement on Thursday, which is teased to be the biggest to date.
