It's official: LEGO is a well-being purchase, according to Deloitte

Deloitte now includes LEGO sets as an acceptable purchase in its $1,000 subsidy for employee well-being, alongside spa services and gaming consoles.

Deloitte has officially added LEGO products to its $1,000 annual subsidy for employee well-being. Most salaried Deloitte employees and partners qualify for the subsidy, meaning they can spend up to $1,000 on anything that will help to "empower and support your journey toward thriving mentally, physically, and financially and living your purpose", according to the internal policy documents as reported by Business Insider.

"This makes a huge difference!" one Deloitte employee told the publication. "I personally like to think of what I need/want for the next subsidy. I have been able to upgrade my workspace, and it helps with the work intake.

"Knocking out a four-hour Lego build in under two hours is a great stress reliever!"

Other new inclusions as of June 1 are kitchenware, kitchen appliance, spa services, personal portable cooling fans, and ergonomic, cooling, and sleeping pillows. Employees could already spend the subsidy on items like office furniture, gym equipment, financial support apps, fitness classes, and gaming consoles, including the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation. In the company's terms, it's all geared towards helping employees manage work stress.

If an employee put all that money towards LEGO, they could come away with a sizable collection. Some obvious heavyhitters include 75192 Millennium Falcon, which costs $849.99, or 10294 Titanic, priced at $679.99. Of course, there could also be merit in waiting until later this year when one rumoured set could eat up that budget in one fell swoop...

Even if you're not a Deloitte employee, we think this gives you free rein to justify that next LEGO purchase – all in the name of caring for your health, of course.
