This year’s headline LEGO Star Wars May the 4th gift-with-purchase is 40917 The Darksaber, which will be free with qualifying orders for a limited time only.
Coming to LEGO.com and LEGO Stores for the May the 4th 2026 event, 40917 The Darksaber will be free with all LEGO Star Wars orders above £145 / $160 / €160 from May 1 to 6 (or while stocks last). It’s the latest in a series of buildable hilts, and the easiest one to get so far: the rest have been tied to specific Ultimate Collector Series sets, but you can buy anything from a galaxy far, far away to add this one to your bag.
40917 The Darksaber recreates the weapon that originally debuted in the second season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and made the transition to live action in The Mandalorian. As per 40730 Luke Skywalker's Lightsaber, 40483 Luke Skywalker's Lightsaber and 5006290 Yoda's Lightsaber, its 278 pieces are devoted entirely to the hilt, with no blade included.
While the previous three lightsabers belonged to specific characters (although one of Luke’s hilts could also be called Anakin’s or Rey’s), the Darksaber has been passed from character to character in Star Wars lore. At one point or another it was wielded by Darth Maul, Bo-Katan Kryze, Sabine Wren, Moff Gideon and Din Djarin (to name a few).
If you do choose to buy this year’s first LEGO Star Wars UCS set to score the Darksaber, you’ll also receive 5010320 The Mandalorian and Grogu Display, which is free exclusively with
