40917 The Darksaber is a detailed and authentic LEGO Star Wars study of an iconic weapon from a galaxy far, far away, and an excellent gift-with-purchase this May the 4th.
Available from May 1 through to May 6, or while stocks last, 40917 The Darksaber is being awarded free with all LEGO Star Wars purchases of £145 / $160 / €160 or more at LEGO.com and in LEGO stores.

For that spend you receive a 278-piece addition to a small but growing collection of LEGO lightsabers, this time recreating the well-storied Darksaber, perfectly timed for the release of The Mandalorian and Grogu given Mando is one of a number of Star Wars characters to have wielded the weapon.
As mentioned up top, this is an authentic and detailed study of the Darksaber, weaving into its relatively small piece count an impressive amount, both in terms of giving you an excellent understanding of this particular lightsaber hilt’s design, and also some enlightening LEGO build techniques along the way. Genuinely, a couple of the effects worked into this model are ingenious.

Those techniques mean the final model is engaging to put together and offers a fully-realised, 360-degree display piece that feels weighty and solid in the hand and looks the part from any angle.

The final model may feel disproportionately large in comparison to what we’ve seen on screen and to the previous LEGO lightsabers we have built, but it does actually appear to be in scale – the Darksaber hilt is slightly longer and can be held with both hands.
40917 The Darksaber is available during May the 4th, from May 1 to 6 while stocks last, awarded with LEGO Star Wars purchases of £145 / $160 / €160 or more at LEGO.com and in LEGO stores. Head here for a full rundown of this year's LEGO May the 4th deals.
