LEGO Speed Champions prices are double their original cost

LEGO Speed Champions set prices are going up once again later this year, now at double their original cost from 11 years ago.

The reveal of 77262 Ken Block's '65 Ford Mustang Hoonicorn V1 has come with a price that does not conform to the rest of the prices in the current roster of Speed Champions sets for 2026. While the likes of 77256 Time Machine from Back to the Future cost £22.99 / $27.99 / €27.99, 77262 Ken Block's '65 Ford Mustang Hoonicorn V1 is unusually priced at £22.99 / $29.99 / €27.99.

That's $2 more in the US, but with no price increase in other regions. The reason for this odd price rise has not been confirmed, but the set features an exclusive minifigure and 345 pieces. That's still notably fewer elements than the Back to the Future set, which doesn't help to explain the higher price.

Here's a look at how the new Speed Champions car compares to the rest of the theme's single-pack car creations confirmed for 2026, so far.

This US price increase now means that Speed Champions cars cost double what they first did back in 2015. While 77262 Ken Block's '65 Ford Mustang Hoonicorn V1 is $29.99, the original wave of cars, including 75899 LaFerrari were priced at $14.99. They still (mostly) include one minifigure, but you should note that the number of pieces in the sets has also doubled, on average.

It's not the first time that LEGO Speed Champions prices have increased. This rise has not currently impacted the UK and Europe. Stay tuned, and we will report if that changes over the rest of the year and beyond. In the meantime, 77262 Ken Block's '65 Ford Mustang Hoonicorn V1 launches on June 1.
