LEGO Series 29 minifigures worth getting again and again

While we wait for the LEGO Series 29 minifigure series to arrive, we can plan which minifigures we want to pick up multiple times for their new prints.

From the Monster Hunter to the Bionicle Cosplayer, 71052 Series 29 is packed with interesting minifigures with equally interesting prints and new pieces among them. Some of these components will have uses beyond these initial minifigures, though, encouraging you to pick up multiple of them.

Brick Search's minifigure scanner will be useful in these efforts, identifying the minifigure inside each blind box via the code on the bottom of the box. This negates the risk of finding duplicates of certain minifigures, letting you choose your purchase. You can download the app on Android and iOS now.

Here are some of the Series 29 minifigures you might want to get multiple of when the range launches on May 1.

Football Goalkeeper

LEGO Editions is exploring the world of football minifigures this summer, but only across dioramas costing £24.99 / $29.99 / €29.99 each. They all come with one minifigure in a football kit, but making a full team of minifigures that are kitted out doesn't have to be expensive.

The Football Goalkeeper in the £3.49 / $4.99 / €3.99 71052 Series 29 comes equipped with a colourful kit with nearly as much printing as the LEGO Editions minifigures. The torso even comes with no yellow details, meaning the head can be easily swapped out for more realistic skin tones.

Marine Biologist

The Marine Biologist may not be the most exciting minifigure in 71052 Series 29, but there's one piece to be ecstatic about. The new clownfish part is equal parts adorable and innovative, expanding the usually limited world of LEGO fish elements significantly.

Instead of using different coloured versions of the same piece, or brick-built fish, the Marine Biologist's exclusive part can be used to create a school of clownfish in your LEGO aquarium. The wetsuit prints and diving mask element will also be useful in your wider world of minifigures.

Tuba Player

You'll certainly need at least one Tuba Player minifigure from Series 29 to lead the band in 11371 Shopping Street. However, the affordable price point of the series makes it easy to pick up multiple of this minifigure and create a full marching band to make their way through your collection.

Ideally, you'd at least change the head and outfit them with some different instruments, but the Tuba Player is a great first step in this goal.

Bionicle Cosplayer

The Bionicle Cosplayer is almost certainly going to be the most sought-after minifigure in 71052 Series 29, and it's not hard to see why. From the nostalgia factor to the new mask piece and that minifigure-scale Bionicle canister print, there's a lot to love in this entry.

It's for that reason that you'll probably want at least two of the minifigure. The Bionicle figures from the start of the theme would sometimes come with gold versions of their Kanohi masks. Some gold spray paint or a gold marker is all you need to apply to a second minifigure mask and make your own golden Kanohi for the cosplayer to wear.

Trash Monster

The Trash Monster may not have been the first minifigure to come to mind when thinking of the duplicates you'll want from Series 29, but their prints and parts will be endlessly useful. The Series 29 minifigure comes with a suite of exclusive prints, from a pizza box straight from the bin to a rotten Halloween pumpkin, as well as two fly tiles. These will be great to scatter around your LEGO city and create rubbish-focused scenes.

The skeletal fish element is also a great twist on the classic piece and will not only be useful to add to these rubbish moments in your city, but also in pirate displays. Plan to pick up at least two of this minifigure.
