The next character from LEGO Minifigures Series 29 to be put in the spotlight is the Tuba Player, bringing back a brass instrument with a new look.
The Tuba Player is one of the minifigures in 71052 Series 29 that you may initially overlook. It doesn't quite stack up to the likes of the Bionicle Cosplayer and Mysterious Ronin, but there's more to this minifigure than meets the eye.
The star of the show in this minifigure is that new tuba piece, recreating something from the LEGO Group's history to be closer to minifigure scale.

“We wanted to make an impact, like if we do a marching band person, there needs to be a big instrument," shared LEGO Minifigures design lead, Esa Nousiainen, in a Fan Mediay Days 2025 interview with Brick Fanatics.
"The tuba was something, and there was some link to the old Fabuland tuba piece, and that’s where it just started," Esa continued. "We, of course, looked into what real tubas looked like and how we can simplify that a little bit so that it fits the LEGO design.
Fabuland's tuba appeared in three sets between 1984 and 2000. Two of those were from Fabuland, and one was in an early Disney build. It's detailed enough to be recognisable as a tuba but was only ever coloured yellow, and would be much too large for minifigures to use.
The 2026 Tuba piece debuts over two decades after its last appearance, on a smaller scale than before and in pearl gold. It's only included in the 71052 Series 29 Tuba Player for now, costing £3.49 / $4.99 / €3.99 for one minifigure. The old Tuba element alone goes for an average of £5 used on BrickLink.
Beyond this new piece, the Tuba Player comes with a host of fresh prints on existing elements. This includes gold-detailed legs with printing on the side and wrapping around the foot. There's also a pair of epaulettes above the printed torso with decorated arms. It's all capped off with a printed red hat, matching other recent marching band minifigures.
The new 71052 Series 29 minifigure will be the perfect supporting member to accompany the two minifigures in
That instrument shop features a variety of instruments, such as a sousaphone, a French horn, a trombone, a trumpet, a bugle and a clarinet. You don't have to stick with the tuba, and could easily turn the Tuba Player into another kind of instrument player using this set.
It's almost like 71052 Series 29's Tuba Player minifigure was made to accompany the cast of
