LEGO Minifigures Series 29 spotlight: Chocolatier

LEGO Minifigures Series 29 spotlight: Chocolatier

From her Dungeons & Dragons-inspired accessory to her new double-sided head print, here’s a closer look at LEGO Minifigures Series 29’s Chocolatier ahead of her debut next month.

The Collectible Minifigures theme has long been a source of characters performing real-world vocations that might not find a home in regular sets, and so too does 71052 Series 29 serve up a handful of new minifigure professions. Among those is the Chocolatier, a character that is equal to the sum of its very versatile parts selection.

Many LEGO Minifigures include a single piece, or maybe two, as accessories – but packed into the Chocolatier’s Series 29 box are six elements in total to create her piping bag, chocolate dragon and plinth, and between them they make very smart use of the current LEGO element library.

The piping bag combines a Harry Potter wand, 1x1 cone and 1L bar with angled hollow stud, while the plinth is constructed from a fez and tea saucer. These are very clever combos of pieces designed for other purposes first and foremost, but the real headline-grabber here is of course the brown dragon.

This piece originally debuted in 71047 Dungeons & Dragons in red, and its recolour here feels like a gift to LEGO Castle collectors. It’s unprinted by dint of being chocolate (protip, don’t try to actually eat it), but that only limits its applications slightly: you could still use it as a sleeping dragon, for example, or as a particularly detailed finial or architectural flourish on a building.

And then there’s the Chocolatier herself, whose torso and legs feel especially versatile for anyone cooking up a culinary minifigure collection. Her dual-moulded arms, white gloves and apron printing could slot in at any restaurant, bakery, street food stall or (of course) chocolate shop in your LEGO city.

Her hat-and-hair combo recolours an existing element in blonde, which is always welcome, but it’s the head print that you’ll be able to make most use of here. On one side is a classic cheesy grin, while on the other there’s a real expression of concentration, to the point she’s even sticking her tongue out slightly.

The Chocolatier may not be as flashy as some characters in 71052 Series 29, but as far as price-per-piece is concerned she’s up there with the best, while those elements are among the most versatile across the entire dozen for city builders. Castle fans will likely feel drawn to her for the dragon alone too, so don’t be surprised if she’s hard to come by when this series first drops in May.

71052 Series 29 lands on shelves May 1, 2026 for £3.49 / $4.99 / €3.99 per blind box.
