Minecraft's move to smaller game drops multiple times a year means that LEGO Minecraft has a lot to catch up on in 2026 and beyond.
The most recent instalment of Minecraft Live took place yesterday, offering players a peek at what's coming to the game in the near future as part of the new mult-year game drops. The game has now moved to these smaller updates rather than one major update each year.
The September 2025 Minecraft Live showcased the Happy Ghast, which was released earlier this year, as well as the contents of the upcoming Copper Age update coming on September 30. That update will include the debut of the Copper Golem, marking another creature (or mob) for LEGO Minecraft to hopefully cover at some point.
The showcase ended by showcasing what is going to be added to the game with the Mounts of Mayhem update, including zombie horses in survival mode, a new mount for undersea travel in the nautilus, and an all-new weapon in the spear. This update is expected later this year and brings plenty of content for LEGO Minecraft to catch up on in the future.
LEGO Minecraft's sets have been reliable in quickly covering the latest updates in previous years. Even though we're still waiting for a LEGO Happy Ghast after its debut in April, LEGO Minecraft's 2025 waves were likely planned far ahead of the Happy Ghast's release. The contents of that mob's game drop, combined with that of the Copper Age (coming September 30) and Mounts of Mayhem (coming holiday 2025), may well inspire future LEGO Minecraft sets, instead.
None of the rumoured 2026 LEGO Minecraft sets have names that would reasonably offer an opportunity to debut a LEGO nautilus, since the new creature lives underwater. A zombie horse might make sense for 21587 The Zombie Garden, and the spear could show up anywhere, ideally using a new element to match the LEGO Minecraft sword, hoe, pickaxe, shovel and bow pieces.
There are still eight rumoured LEGO Minecraft 2026 sets without names, leaving enough room for the rest of the new content to find a spot. Nothing has currently been officially confirmed for LEGO Minecraft in 2026, and the rumoured information is to be taken with caution until an announcement is made. In the meantime, you can look forward to Minecraft's Copper Age update on September 30.
