An official statement addressing the religious nature of LEGO Architecture 21061 Notre-Dame de Paris has been issued by the LEGO Group.
The LEGO Group officially unveiled 21061 Notre-Dame de Paris last week, the biggest LEGO Architecture set revealed to date. The 4,383-piece build launches on June 1, 2024, priced at £199.99 / $229.99 / €229.99 and measures over 33cm high, 22cm wide and 41cm deep. Designed by Rok Žgalin Kobe, who was also behind the creation of 10307 Eiffel Tower, the upcoming historical model looks likely to be a popular set with many builders.
Ahead of the release of the LEGO Architecture model next month, the LEGO Group has issued the following official statement addressing the religious nature of 21061 Notre-Dame de Paris:

“Our policy on architectural landmarks with religious connotations, culture and history is evolving as we will begin to consider representation of such buildings in our extensive product portfolio. Each set will be carefully selected in tribute to its significant cultural and historical relevance. The LEGO Architecture Notre-Dame de Paris set has been created as a tribute to the historical and architectural significance of the iconic building, which is why it has been included in the LEGO Architecture line.”
