Over two years after its first appearance, a LEGO Ideas submission has got a second chance to become an official LEGO set.
British builder Richard Dane has already pulled on nostalgic heartstrings with his first submission of Retro Arcade back in 2021, although it never made it through to become an actual LEGO Ideas set. Now, he's back with a new version, with very few differences from its original design from what we can tell. The updated Retro Arcade includes various old-school games, from arcade-style video games and a grabber to a car racer and a vending machine.
With 1,849 pieces and seven minifigures, Dane promises plenty of interactive features to make the play and display possibilities of this set just as fun as the build, such as a coin-operated sports car, a claw grabber, a super bike, indoor light bricks and a rotating planet on the arcade roof. Inspired by happy memories of his childhood, Dane hopes that the LEGO Ideas review board will approve of his vision, just like 10,000 supporters have done so far.
Retro Arcade is the second set to join the second LEGO Ideas review round of 2023, after the first round closed with a record-breaking amount of qualifying submissions.
