LEGO Education Science to launch with three new learning kits

Classroom-based learning will receive a boost later this year, with the arrival of three new LEGO Education Science kits aimed at teachers and students alike.

LEGO Education has been delivering playful learning experiences since the theme was launched back in 1980. Introduced to provide teachers and students with the knowledge and skills they need to get the most out of classroom activities, previous content has included specialised lesson plans, basic coding packages and dedicated LEGO sets.

Now LEGO Education has launched a new learning solution, LEGO Education Science, which has been designed to boost engagement with 120+ standards-aligned lessons, ready-to-use class presentations and three upcoming LEGO kits.

The latest initiative follows a survey commissioned by LEGO Education, which found that 45 percent of students who listed science as one of their 'least favourite' subjects described it as 'too hard', and 37 percent felt they were 'bad at it.'

LEGO Education Science wants to reimagine science classes to be more inclusive for teachers and students alike, and is intended to be aligned with Key Stage 2-8 development. Lessons will be aimed at developing skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and creativity, bringing the subject to life in exciting new ways.

“Science teaches us to ask curious questions to understand the world around us,” said Victor Saeijs, President of LEGO Education. “If students think they’re not good at the subject or avoid it, we risk losing an entire generation of innovators and problem-solvers. We share your commitment as educators to excite and engage students with high-quality science education.”

LEGO Education Science is intended to spark curiosity in students and invite inquiry, with three upcoming kits designed for use by up to four students together during lessons. Teachers will also be supported with free material via a dedicated Teacher Portal, which will provide lesson plans, standards mapping, facilitation notes and presentations.

“One of the most powerful things we can do as educators is to instil a lifelong love of learning in our students,” said Andrew Sliwinski, Head of Product Experience at LEGO Education. “LEGO Education Science supports educators across the world to bring science standards to life in a new way with ready-made lessons and high quality, reusable LEGO bricks and hardware. I can’t wait to see these learning experiences in the hands of students.”

LEGO Education Science will begin shipping in August 2025, with three kits by grade band that include a selection of LEGO pieces, powered motors, USB charging cables and more.
