An upcoming Spring Festival LEGO gift-with-purchase set has been officially revealed in the shape of 40779 Year of the Horse.
A new LEGO build celebrating Spring Festival will be joining three Chinese Traditional Festivals sets in the near future. Officially revealed via LEGO.com is 40779 Year of the Horse, a 133-piece build that stands over 10cm tall, 9cm long and 6cm wide, but the listing has no images. Brickset has thankfully shared an image of the gift-with-purchase.
The model follows previous annual Lunar New Year releases that have been based on Chinese Zodiac signs, including 40707 Year of the Snake earlier in 2025. 40864 Fortune Master, 80118 Fortune Firecracker and 80119 Galloping Horses Canvas are scheduled to launch on January 1, 2026, with the latter two sets already available for pre-order.
40779 Year of the Horse features a brick-built version of the four-legged animal, complete with a brown mane, plus one raised hoof. The GWP model is displayed on its own dedicated stand, one that is decorated with various flowers and gold-coloured elements.
At this stage, there are no additional details regarding exactly when 40779 Year of the Horse will be available or what the minimum spending threshold might be for obtaining the promotional build.
40707 Year of the Snake could be picked up with all purchases of £65 / $70 / €70 and over (excluding pre-orders), with the GWP available from January 8, 2025. It’s worth noting that the Year of the Horse won’t actually kick off until February 17, 2026, though, but it’s likely that 40779 Year of the Horse may arrive before then.
