LEGO Icons 10359 Fountain Garden inspirations explained

LEGO Icons 10359 Fountain Garden is coming to shelves early next year and a preview has offered function explanation, designer insight and more.

Earlier today the LEGO Group lifted the curtain on 10359 Fountain Garden while simultaneously announcing the Gardens of the World range (which technically started with 10315 Tranquil Garden but has been unnamed throughout 2024). New footage from the Fan Media Days event for 2024 from DuckBricks has offered a better look at the upcoming LEGO Icons set and explains some of the design decisions.

The video provides a closer look at the modular functionality, explaining just how you'll be able to swap its appearance with ease and combine it with 10315 Tranquil Garden. A better view of the various printed pieces is also provided and explained in detail by the set's graphic designer.

Graphic designer Kenza Faten confirms that the model is inspired by North African architecture specifically, stating: "It has been a pleasure for me to work on the graphics on this set as it is inspired by North African architecture and an art form that is called Zellij.

"It is a tile art form coming from North Africa and I grew up with these tiles surrounding me when I grew up in Morocco partially. They've been so much fun to work on as they have this geometrical pattern that creates this tesselation of playfulness, fun and vibrancy.

The team also confirms that all the plants and animals are species that can be found in and around the Mediterranean, including the Spanish Moon Moth and the Liberian Frog. It shows just how much thought has gone into the set that will be starting the Gardens of the World range with 10315 Tranquil Garden being an existing member of the new collection starting January 2025.
