The new LEGO Minecraft 2026 sets have some exciting details to spot, not just for Minecraft experts, including a game-changing new piece.

New pieces

There are quite a few new elements in the LEGO Minecraft January 2026 sets, many of which are specific to Minecraft. The highlight is the new fox head, meaning the creatures no longer need to use the cat head and therefore have an inaccurate appearance. There's also a single-block chest and a mace accessory, but there's an even more interesting addition that isn't specific to LEGO Minecraft.

A new mid-level bracket piece will debut next year in 21587 Zombie Dungeon, offering a thinner, rounded connection point for standard elements. This single piece has huge potential in custom creations across all themes.

A redesigned Wither

The Wither is back in LEGO Minecraft after 10 years in 21590 Wither Battle, and the design team have approached the boss with a different build to accentuate the ribs and remove the large plate holding up the three heads. In fact, those smaller heads are actually inverted animal heads usually used for cows, pigs and sheep.

Our first desert temple

After many years of waiting, LEGO Minecraft finally has a desert temple. It may not be a full minifigure-scale model as we've been waiting for, but the microscale build in 21589 Mini Biomes will do for now. Whether it features the traps underneath is another question, but there is enough space in the build.

A zombie dungeon remake

The original LEGO Minecraft zombie dungeon may have been off shelves for a long time, but it's undoubtedly serving as the inspiration for next year's 21587 Zombie Dungeon. The desert-based model has a spawning play feature, an above-ground area, a chest and a cactus, just like the original set.

The return of the baby zombie

Perhaps most notably, especially following a certain meme from the Minecraft Movie, the baby zombie figure with its smaller body element has returned after a two-year hiatus. It's used for a chicken jockey in 21585 Chicken Farm, which is also bringing us a cold chicken for the first time in the theme.
