The first LEGO Medieval Horse Knight Castle alt builds are here

Less than a week after it hit shelves, the first alternate builds for LEGO Creator 3-in-1 31168 Medieval Horse Knight Castle are landing online.

Like its predecessor 31120 Medieval Castle, this summer’s newest Creator fortress was always going to be ripe for alternate builds, and it was really only a matter of time until they started popping up online. Over on Rebrickable so far are two alternate builds that use only the pieces from a single copy of 31168 Medieval Horse Knight Castle, along with a model that combines two copies for a larger stronghold.

Wizard tower

LucSoleBricks’ first 31168 Medieval Horse Knight Castle alternate build uses 1,056 elements – or a hefty chunk of its original 1,371 pieces – to construct a tower for a wizard. It maintains the brick-built horses from the original set if you like them, and otherwise includes a towering spire above a small outpost with ramparts and an interior.

Bridge keep

This second design from LucSoleBricks requires 886 pieces from 31168 Medieval Horse Knight Castle (so there will be plenty left over to embellish it as you like or build something else), and serves up a bridge on which the set’s Horse and Serpent Knight factions can duke it out, with taller structures either side of it.

Horse Knight Stronghold

BrickDuvel’s Horse Knight Stronghold is the first 31168 Medieval Horse Knight Castle alt build to combine two copies of the Creator 3-in-1 set, and creates a completely enclosed fortress that can be displayed from all angles – but also opens out with full access to the interior of its buildings. It uses 2,455 pieces in total and measures 24cm tall, 48cm wide and 35cm deep.
