Bravery Bootcamp for parents at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort

To launch Bravery Bootcamp as part of Brick or Treat at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, the theme park has revealed findings from a fun Halloween inspired survey. The LEGOLAND Windsor Resort has released research that finds children aged 8 ¼ are the bravest people, with the least fear of snakes and creepy crawlies. By contrast, 27 ½ is the age when people are the most scared. The survey of 3,000 people found that adults wished they were braver to get involved in more activities with their children, with the youngsters agreeing by a similar margin. With Brick and Treat now in full swing at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, Bravery Bootcamp had been introduced for the first time. It is intended to help parents reclaim their fearlessness, with children taking charge of increasingly scary challenges. Giant minifigure characters Lord Vampyre and Frankie will help adults get through the challenges during Halloween period. One young respondent explained that they were braver than their parent, “because I am like Spiderman!” “The more that goes wrong in life, the more we develop a sense of fear. This is a very natural instinct. Children, who may never have experienced things going wrong, often don’t have any of these worries,” explained Dr Sam Wass, a Child Psychologist. “This fearlessness can be a real strength. It means that we don’t hesitate to set out to achieve what we really want. A good dose of fearlessness can really help us in adult life both professionally and personally, as it allows us to push the boundaries and break out of our comfort zones.” “At LEGOLAND Windsor we know kids’ bravery knows no bounds, and those that we surveyed said they’d have more fun if their parents were more daring, so what better way to help parents beat their fears than a ‘Bravery Bootcamp’ hosted by kids,” said Lauren Walton from the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort. “We can’t wait to see parents’ reactions to some of the creepy crawlies we’ve enlisted!” “Encouraging children to put themselves in situations where they do feel a bit scared, but in a safe and controlled environment, can be a vital part of growing up. Learning to overcoming fear is a huge step in help a child to gain independence, and self-confidence,” Dr Wass added.
