The fourth 1:8 supercar in the biennial LEGO Technic subtheme, 42143 Ferrari Daytona SP3 follows in the tyre tracks of 42056 Porsche 911 GT3 RS, 42083 Bugatti Chiron and 42115 Lamborghini Sián FKP 37. It’s the first of the cars cast in red – naturally, because this is a Ferrari – and perhaps the most impressive yet. The finished product comes in at 14cm tall, a whopping 59cm long and 25cm wide, and captures the Daytona SP3’s sleek curves and unique details.

It’s not all about the looks, though: 42143 Ferrari Daytona SP3 also packs in plenty of functionality beneath its shell, including working steering, an eight-speed sequential gearbox with paddle shift, and a V12 engine with moving pistons. And it’s realistically the most involved and in-depth build of any LEGO Technic supercar to date, which will keep things fresh for collectors lucky enough to already own the rest.
