Another LEGO One Piece pre-order sells out weeks before release

LEGO One Piece fever continues apace as another pre-order sells out in the UK and Europe, further cementing the notion that the LEGO Group has a winner on its hands here…

All seven of the new LEGO One Piece sets went up for pre-order earlier this month, including the four standard playsets, two BrickHeadz models and the 18+ 75640 The Baratie Floating Restaurant. The two biggest sets – the Baratie and 75639 The Going Merry Pirate Ship – sold through their entire pre-order allocations within a matter of days in the US, and quickly followed suit in other regions.

Next to sell out its initial pre-order allocation is 75636 Windmill Village Hut, the smallest and cheapest minifigure-scale set of the wave at only £24.99 / $29.99 / €29.99. The 299-piece model depicts Partys Bar, as seen in flashbacks in Netflix’s live-action adaptation of One Piece, and includes minifigures of young Luffy, Shanks and Makino.

75636 Windmill Village Hut is still available to pre-order in the US at the time of writing, but has switched to ‘Coming soon’ in the UK and Europe. Anyone who hasn’t secured their copy yet will need to wait until launch day – but if the speed with which these first three sets have sold out is any indication, they may be pretty hard to come by initially.

That all speaks to the size of the existing fanbase for One Piece, which was Netflix’s most-watched title in the second half of 2023 and racked up 71.6 million views between July and December (to say nothing of the original anime on which it was based, which has been running for more than 1,100 episodes). And while some recent LEGO licensed themes have stalled out the gate – Avatar springs to mind – it looks like the LEGO Group has found another success story with One Piece.

Check out the full assortment of LEGO One Piece sets arriving on shelves in August in the table below. The two BrickHeadz sets, 75638 Battle at Arlong Park and 75637 Buggy the Clown’s Circus Tent are all still available to pre-order at the time of writing, and will qualify for double points from June 19 to 23.
